Flood Resilience

What Flooding Solutions Mean for a Community

Flooding shapes where people can build, how roads hold up, and whether homes and businesses stay safe. The decisions behind flood resilience — drainage upgrades, stormwater management, mitigation, and watershed planning — unfold over years and affect the whole community.

We follow these decisions by linking to public records, flood maps, and official plans, and by summarizing what is proposed. We do not assume that every project fully solves the problem. Each proposal should be evaluated using its local facts and tradeoffs — including cost, the level of protection provided, ongoing maintenance, and who benefits. Our role is to surface the sourced information that helps a community do that evaluation.
